If you'll notice, the Board of Education was supposed to approve the bids at the March 18th board meeting.
Now look at the agenda for the March 18th board meeting below.
Do you see the bid approvals on the March agenda for these projects?
Neither do we.
We're wondering why the board of education tabled these projects.
Is it because people are taking notice of this waste of taxpayer dollars?
Or, have they taken the costly construction projects out of the public eye until after the election?
Hmmm....

Well, I hope the board came to their senses about spending my hard earned money unnecessarily.
I'm all for improvements but lets not overdo it folks. Lets think about our kids. They could sure use more for learning like laptops. Lets save our kids backs. My poor kids have to take motrin at least once a week for their backs. Those backpacks must weigh at least 20 lbs. some days.
I say if we need safety improvements, we probably have the money to do it. But, let the Board publish the safety report that they are using to make these decisions, so everyone knows what the facts are. We're all grown-ups we can understand a responsible expense in face of a real need. Not giving the full report (story) to the public make it seem like there's something to hide.
Lincoln said he believed that the common man given the facts had the ability to make a decision for the common good.
Well, we could pay over and over again when expensive equipment is stolen because there is no secure garage to store it. We will pay dearly if something happens to just one child or staff member because of inadequate security. If you ask parents from Highlands if they want their kids to have a laptop, many will tell you "no". There are many negatives associated with that luxury. You have no idea! Teach your kids how to wear their backpacks properly. It's not the homework that will give them ulcers, it's the Motrin!
