Does this mean that Mrs. Thompson won't be back next year? Why not? My son is in third grade and Spanish is his favorite class.

Senora Thompson will not be back next year. Neither will a few other teachers. We are sad to see Mrs. Thompson go. She did wonderfully creative activities with the kids. She was a favorite among many of the parents and students. We are not sure as to why she will be leaving, you might want to inquire at the elementary school.

The assistant principal position is expected to be filled in the next week. It will be an external candidate (not someone currently employed at the school) and most likely it will be a friend of either Mark Fredisdorf or Meg Pokorny. It figures.

I'm sure Mr. Brade feels it is an honor to be mentioned here with your admission that he should be considered a front-runner for the assistant principal position.

To Anonymous,

We're not sure what you mean by your comments.

While we made no mention of any candidates by name, Mr Brade would be a good choice for the assistant principal job. He knows the students, the parents and the policies. He is firm, yet fair and consistent.

Unfortunately, our administration does not care about choosing the very best candidates. They like to surround themselves with their own friends, just like they do at the park district. They want to fill positions with their circle of cronies. Sad, but true.
