My child's 4th grade science project promotes consumerism and not science. It also is about layout and design. I have noticed since I have been at this school that at home assignments always seem to lose the focus. It is not about science and it is not about the abilities of a 4th grade. I got to visit my niece's elementary classroom recently. She took me right away to the science experiment her class was doing and told me all about it with such Passion. Then she proceeded to tell me about the next experiment they were doing. As we were leaving the school and walking by the classrooms, I could tell that this school is interested in having the kids experience science as a class. It seems that this school is more interested in the kids knowing the steps for the test then sparking their interest in science.
