K.I.S.S.

In keeping with our title, we'd like to point a few things out to some people that insist on sending loooooonnnnnngggg emails full of ridiculous verbiage.

The Kensington School is in ILLINOIS not VIRGINIA!! Doh! Nice job checking your sources.

A brief explanation of the rules for capitalizing words is linked below because it appears someone was absent the year it was taught.
The rules for using capital letters.

Everyone knows that plagiarizing is a no-no. Do you own research rather than stealing the hard work of others. Even our middle schoolers know that!

Finally, K.I.S.S., because in the words of Sweet Brown, "Ain't nobody got time for that!"

Earlier today I was forwarded an email from Mark Mirabile and Mike Hawbaker with endorsements from various people. I am glad this election is almost over because I am tired of all the emails.

I heard a "rumor" that one of those endorsements in the email I received was from a 75 year old grandmother that was mislead into agreeing to allow others to write the letter on her behalf. This same grandmother's three grandchildren were thrown out of school on residency dispute under the tutelage of Mr. Mirabile. This cost the district tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees.

If this happened to my grandchildren, there is no way I would endorse the school let alone the man responsible. So I did my own investigating because you never know what to believe. I was surprised to learn this was true.

I also heard another "rumor" that another of their endorsements came from a friend/neighbor that lives in a home across the street from Mr. Hawbaker. Supposedly, this person was being accused of underpaying on their real estate taxes.

Again, I did some research and looked up the home on the public tax portal. I found this to be true too.

As a Burr Ridge resident, I pay a great deal of money in taxes which leaves me to wonder if Mr. Mirabile and Mr. Hawbaker will really protect the assets of the community if they are elected. Will they seek to recoup thousands in back taxes or will they look the other way? Only time will tell.

More investigating led to more revelations that several of those endorsing Mr. Mirabile and Mr. Hawbaker based on their character have never even met them. I am sure they are nice men, but how do you really know if you have never met them?

I had planned to vote for Mark and Mike, but can no longer support them in light of this information. I don't appreciate being mislead by misinformation.

Thank goodness they are running on a platform of promoting excellence and not on integrity.

I have to agree, I have heard this same thing about these 2 candidates. In addition, when you read their emails, there is no way that they have this knowledge or data, even if Mark is a school board member. Their email responses sound just like our superintendent. I sure hope that we are not wasting district resources and $ on supporting candidates - that is highly unethical. So among the other antics we've seen, we would have to add misappropriation of funds/time.
